best place to live around Taylor Michigan

This is all great info. I like the idea of not in Wayne county and lower taxes. If this happens, hopefully the wife wont mind living a little south. And since we have two small boys, being a little out in the country could be a lot of fun for them.

Don't you have a larger home/property?

SCS is a little higher on property tax than other cities in the immediate area. Before the Recession, I issued a lot of cashiers checks to pay SCS property taxes on residential properties. Most were between $6,000 and $8,000 at that time.

I was pissed when I saw the mileage increase again because they are trying to fix their FUCKED budget...

That's a nice sized lot. I'm on a 55x150 lot and just a hair under 1000sq ft.

The first 50ft is easement that grosse pointe woods owns...I just throw it in there because I gotta cut the damn grass lol...

Anyone have some good suggestions.

At $400k max, you'll have many choices of homes with 1+ acres and pole barn/extra garage in "car hobby friendly" neighborhood and "good" school districts.

How close are you willing to live near a major airport (DTW), major freeways (94, 275, 75), busy railroads, a nuclear power plant, or an active landfill?
