best place to live around Maumee Ohio.....

So I am thinking of moving back to Michigan/ohio with work and that will be in Maumee Ohio Looking for a good neighborhood with good schools for my two boys no farther than a 30min drive. Under $400k. Will need a little property to maybe build an extra garage. Anyone have some good suggestions.

Go south as far as you can... Monroe....

That was my first thought since my sister lives there but really didn't was to be that far south. But is an option.

Move back over to the old hood Plymouth/Canton. Straight shot to 275 south to 94.

I live right near there, but it has issues, though with the freeway, if you can get south or east, you can find good sized property

I'm in Milan and work in Taylor. It's 35 minutes each way. Good schools here, plenty of larger properties if you want. Saline is nice too. A little more expensive, but more to do (bigger/better downtown, food, drinks, etc)

275 corridor has a lot of good areas.

New Boston
Flat rock
Brownstown
Carlton

Canton you'll pay out the ass and pay the crazy taxes too.

You'll get more property and house for your money in other city's.

Lower taxes in Monroe county and its 30ish min south of your location down 275

Saline is also farther and Michigan ave is a disaster all the way to 23

Horrible traffic all the time. That needs to be 4/5 lanes

So that is why you're looking at 4x4's

Milan Township is a great place to live. The taxes
are simply some of the lowest you'll find. The wide
open spaces are rare.

There are none of the problems I see in a lot of other
places. When I moved here 17 years ago, I could have
purchased anywhere, my research showed this was the
best place for me. I love the peace & privacy.

A lot of properties around here sell before they ever hit
the market. If you're interested in something in the Milan
Township area, let me know and I can do some checking.

Living near US23 means I can go doorstep to doorstep, from
my house to U of M hospital in under 30 min., St. Joes or WCC
in about 20 min.

Milan schools are very good. Don't forget to check out WTMC & ECA,
the high schools at Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan
University.

My son is at WTMC and my niece at ECA. What this means is they will
graduate with a high school diploma and a college degree at the same time
and with NO COST!

It is shocking how many folks don't know about these schools / programs.
They can be hard to get into, but are well worth it. There is no income
considerations. Contact me if you want to know more.

Grosse Ile?? getting to work might be a bear dealing with a bridge and trains possibly... This is a boat/water lovers option. Belleville too. My neighbor was fine with his kids going to saline schools vs dearborn(divorced family). Dearborn has some nice hidden areas right by Mich/Telegraph but you would be sitting between Detroit and Inkster. Taylor has a few nice looking streets here and there, almost like they have a strict HOA setup.

you will not beat the Plymouth Canton school system anywhere in metro detroit ....

its all about the schools ...

best buy in canton is the Brookside Village subdivision

It all simply depends on what you value the most,
defines what the best place to live is. It can be different,
for different folks.

Yea. Teachers in other schools are morons and criminals.

Statements like "cannot be beat" are laughable at best.
