Best Place to Buy a Couch?

Too bad you missed out on this great deal : http://www.motownmuscle.com/forums/showthread.php?175910-Free-Couch!&highlight=couch

But really, cheap furniture sucks. I have a couch from Albany Industries, and I'd never get another made by them (even though they are U.S. based). We bought it off a friend when it was only a few months old, and a few months later the material started cracking badly in random places, and they said too bad since we weren't the original purchaser, even though it was under the time frame. This also is standard of most warranties I realize, but the point is that their quality is horrid. My .02

The "best" store depend on what style, taste & budget you have (or don't have). My suggestions would be Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, and Macy's... but that's making a lot of assumptions. You also need to be mindful that some stores, like Gorman's, carry very different furniture per store... generally reflecting the majority taste's of the locals.

believe it our not value city furniture has some nice ones at a decent price The last one I got from them has held up very well for the price

We just went shopping for a new place over the summer, and we started at VCF for the bedroom. Everything we bought arrived damaged. The ottoman stitching was as far as 3/4" off from the top section to the lower section. We sent it all back, and ended up going to Art Van. Quality was much better, for cheaper because we bought it during a sale :hahano: . But we got one of the HGTV couches and we love it. Built in the USA, great quality, real laminate for the frame and not particle board, etc.

Look on craigslist for used shit in Birmingham or Bloomfield. Chances are the stuff came from a higher end place and a lot of it just ends up in a room no one uses.

This is actually a pretty good idea. My parents are just moving out of Northville and they ended up trading a bunch of furniture they no longer use that pretty much nobody ever sat on for pennies on the dollar to their landscaper. I guarantee you tons of people do the same thing with really nice furniture that nobody ever used and put it on sale sites.

We have a sectional from Crate and Barrel we bought because it was comfortable to flop on after having a more aesthetically appealing couch that was not comfortable at all. The C&B couch is a microfiber type material that is phenomenal against stains. One of our dogs knocked into a buddy who subsequently dumped red wine all over it and it didn't leave any stain at all. When you need to clean it, just take the covers off, throw it in the washer and it's like new when it comes out, and it's probably 6 years old.

I bought a sectional from art van...cindi crawford edition? has held up fantastic...It was a good price and looks great

Look for some Amish furniture, they make some very nice quality (and classy looking) stuff.

Every Wendsdays is the best day to buy at Art Vans.. That's when they have the best promotions
