Nope, 98 had a Cobra R "like" wheel, but it's not the same.

'98 Cobra wheel on the Capri is 17x8 (as stated) with a 5.72" backspacing and the spokes are more arched and a bit thinner than the '95 R wheel.

'95 Cobra R wheel is 17x9 (again, as stated) with a 5.98" backspacing and as you can see the barrel isn't stepped like the '98 wheel. They supposedly used a different manufacturing technique than the '98s and are 'supposedly' stronger (who knows for sure). Many people confuse the two wheels.

'94 & '95 Cobras had a wheel like you show in the pic (again 17x8 with a 5.72" backspacing), but without the dark grey painted portion...they were silver. However, the '94 Cobra Convertible pace cars had the wheels you show with the dark painted portion...which are '96 & '97 (same 17x8, 5.72" backspacing) Cobra wheels.

I've played the wheel/tire/brake packaging game waaaay too many times with factory wheels...clearly.

As an aside, I think they used the '98 Cobra wheel as the spare for the '95 Cobra Rs...but I may be mistaken....surely Saso would know. I know the lineage on the years doesn't make sense, but I thought that was the case...can't say I've seen one in person to confirm it though. Knew a guy who had a '95 R that he wrecked, but never saw the spare.

interesting. a friend's dad has a '96 mystic with the wheels i posted. i just assumed they all came with the same wheels.

EVERY fucking post you make is annoying. Somehow and some way you have something to say about other people's rides. What do you have thats so uber awesome? A BMW that is by no means fast and I guess its kinda cool and some other car you sold. I understand the car may not be your thing but damn your posts annoy the fuck out of me.

I wanna know how they went into the future and used a 98 cobra wheel in 95 for the R spare wheel? Gonna have to check the wording on that statement, lol
 
Obviously U have not worked in Prototype ANYTHING.....The same way they used a '94 wheel on the '93 R's

but in 94, they already had the a wheel designated the "98 cobra wheel". Or in 97, did they look at the selection of wheels they had and thought "We should use these on the 98 cobra"
