best autocross front tire for a dd in 275x40x17?

I'm slightly confused. Are you putting NT05R Drag Radials on the back with these mentioned new wheels?
I think the NT05 (non R) is a solid performer. Life might be kind of short as I think those have less tread depth to start with compared to most other tires. Kumho Ecsta XS is one of the better tires for stret tire auto x. I thought that would be a size that you could get pretty much every tire under the sun in. I was disappointed at the lack of some particular tires when I looked it up.
I would say it isn't ideal to run different tires front and back for auto cross. So if you aren't talkinga bout the NT05R drag radial and just the normal NT05, you're only good option for the front tire is the NT05.
