just curious if theres a special procedure or material to weld the axle tubes into the housing ? and if its prudent to add some extra weld to lca bracket on the axle tube as well ... pics would help tons if possible ...

thanks motown

I've had DTS weld all my tubes. I belive they tig them. It's a precision weld that looks badass. I'm sure welding up the LCA mounting points wouldn't hurt either. You can also add some poly bushings up top, but I usually leave the rubber ones so the thing has a little bit of give. All 4 arms have poly bushings so rubber up in the rear end housing won't hurt.

Just a fyi, the links on corral.net are correct.
1. You must use nickle rod.
2. Anytime you weld anywhere on the tube, it must be straightened. No exceptions. It makes the housing crooked every time.

this is correct. The biggest problem is properly cooling and properly warming pre and post welding.

The axle tubes need to be straightened before welding, then the welding should be done in a jig to prevent warp due to the heat.

They will warp due to the welding. They should be made made straight wleded then restraigthened. They will need it.
