bad news about my car :(

Well, we had a flash-flood down here last Tuesday, 12" in 2 hours, and I got stuck in the Maxima on my way home. Soooo Chris and I are stuck in the car, water's up to the top of the tires, and as soon as I open the door to get out, water comes gushing in to the interior. We got some help towing the car back to our place after the rain stopped, but my car is destroyed :( The interior is completely flooded, all the seats have water damage, and the worst part, we can get the car to turn-over, but we checked the oil and it's sludge....so now the Max is sitting at the dealership waiting to be "looked at", which is going to take FOREVER, so I've been without a car for a week, it sucks! :( :(

Since I know it's gonna be a total loss, any ideas on what I should get next??? I want to stay in the low $20K range....used or new is fine, I'm not too picky....
 
WHy not get Another Maxima?
If you liked the car, and it survived the flood...

There are enough Mustangs already...

That happened to me way back when i was 16. Woodward was FLOODED, the water was just below the bottom of my windows. Car stalled out and we had to hop out the windows and push it out. Luckily nothing got into the car, but if i had opened the door it would definately have been fucked lol.

Al - yup, allstate PLUS gap :) pretty happy i got the gap insurance now!!!

Lab1702 - HELL NO to the Mustang's - everyone and their mom has one, no thanks ;)

I've been looking for another Maxima, but a 6-speed, haven't found one yet, but I check everyday!!!

Reiko - why would I want an SRT??? Geesh, slow-ass shits ;) hahaha!

And a C5....naaaaa

white_out - yeh I've been looking at used g35's and 350's....I really liked the vq motor I had in the Max :) I found both used at a dealership, the 350 is an 05, black on black leather, not sure of the price or if it's an auto or manual though. And the g35 I found has 25K miles, dark blue metallic, brembo package, 04, 6-speed, for $20K...not too bad....

otherwise, this is totally away from cars lol....I found a 2003 F350 Lariat dually turbo-diesel....black with tan leather interior, 50K miles, for $20K. Any thoughts on the truck???

They are awesome cars, fun to drive, and get good fuel economy...

For the Record my 6 speed Driver PReffered package Maxima was my Fav car of all time...

I've test-drove a few 350's, but never driven a G....heard a lot of good things about them though :)

THANK YOU!!!! Someone else that loves Maxima's! My fiance thinks I'm crazy cuz I'm looking for another Maxima lol. But I guess he's kinda right - I've had a Max, I should try something different....but we'll see. If I find a 6-speed 2002-2003 with the VQ 3.5, low miles, and in good shape, I might just hafta jump on it :)
 
Fusion SE with the Sport package. I know it a "FORD", but drive one before you buy anything. I think you will be suprised how quick and nice it is.
