it wasn't the bad economy that kill nopi, it was good taste. nobody, even most import owners, wants to see body kits and 19s on a civic any more.

Agreed. The market for hard parts (cams, pistons, valves...ETC) is growing on the import side but the body kits, wings, fart cans, neon market is declining......(thank goodness) NOPI catered to this market and anyone serious about building a motor adding a turbo and so on did not look to NOPI for parts.

Another big part was the racing wasn't there. A few years ago some of the "bigger" racers were pulling out of NOPI. NOPI had to add all of the other crap to try to keep attendance up.....it didn't work. The events, sponsorship and attendees has been declining.

NOPI was going down hill before, the economy just helped push them over the edge.

well just look at the facts. they based their market on a group of kids with no money to afford real cars, real mods, ECT... of course they were going to fail from the get-go.

As for the customers not having money......Fact is the
16-25 year olds have more disposable income than most middle-age people. Think about it, living at home, no mortgage, no rent, no food, water, electrical....ETC. Bills...All of their money can go into cars.

According to SEMA the only market growing faster than the import market is the Diesel truck market.

Using your logic does that explain why Super Shops and Ramchargers failed? (Don’t really need a response...just pointing out your failed logic)

Anyone laughing or celebrating this is missing the point. Despite the fact that NOPI events were a ricetastic show, they brought money to the tracks they ran at. More money via big events makes tracks improve their facilities and also not have to jack up the rates for us little guys when we run there.
It's already a tough business to be in for track owners. Losing out on events like this hurts everyone that runs at that track.
