Well some of you know I have been in the axle business for the last 15 years or so and I have accepted a job at Reider Racing as of August 1st. Well as of today I am no longer affiliated with them in any way, shape, or form. The new owner Ron pretty much just baited me in for a few months with empty promises and let me go today after everyone left for the day. He really didn't give me an explaination or reason why he let me go, but did offer to help me if I did start up my own store front and give me good prices on parts. Yeah, right! Buy parts off of you after the way you just phucked with my livelyhood! What a Phucked up place to work for, it always has and will always will be!

So I ask please do not purchase anything from this company "Reider Racing" or their brand "Precision Gear". The new owners just purchased a name brand only to bait and switch their quality USA made gears for China and Indonesian POS parts.

damn, we just did some last min. buisness with them a couple weeks ago. ill be sure to suggest somewhere else next time my boss looks to order shit from them. thats bullshit, good luck with the job hunting man. its tough around here.
 
That's fucked up, I just heard from someone you were liking your job over there. I also hear you own business would go quite well if you took all the business you get. Think Driveline souutions will be back online?

Back on line? I was never off line just concertrated on my mail order custom assemblies.

I brought DLS into the interview and left it up to them if they wanted to purchase it or let me keep it going. They said they had no problems with me keeping it just as it didn't hurt their sales. I actually helped them out on some of DLS sales and just shipped product out under their name since I was too busy with assemblies and didn't have any time to get small pieces out.

I knew DLS was still operational and I knew you gave Reader business from it, BUT i Also know many coustomers have been beating on your door with no awnser while you were there. 2 of which were reffered by me. I'm just saying. People love to have a good reliable axle guy and the price doesnt matter when it comes to axles or driving distance.

not just with axles but with everything really. we have a repeat customer who drives up from cleveland to get shit done to his car while he waits.

Well I am still in talks with the president of DLS so maybe I can talk her into opening up a store front. I have not counted out taking the buyout from AAM and just investing into my own place. I just have way too many shops in this area.

I had a father and son team drive up from Illinois just to have me set up their 12 bolt. They had a local installer put in 2 sets and they both failed, mine are silent and have been down their local track a few time this season.

My cousin got offered the same thing.. He is thinking hard about it but not sure... It sucks that AAM is going down fast...

The only thing it would do for me is pay off a few things and give me some money to invest into a store front. Ideas anyone?

My Brother inlaw just got a great job offer with a P.C. company and he is putting his huge shop (Down River) for sale.....?
 
Sorry to hear that, Scott!

I always bitch about my job and I really do dislike many things about the company I work for but I'm still grateful to have a job in this economy. A small shop with a lift might not be a bad idea for you. Just make sure you know how much inventory you'd have to move per month to make a decent living and weigh everything out carefully before deciding.
