my buddy got 2nd place on his GN (even though the car only had 600+/- original miles and spend most of it's life inside a Buick Dealership in TX) because of surface rust on his driveshaft.
He was pissed.

The king has been knocked off his high horse, dude Varsity didn't buy all 50 cars that were made, if they had and another one showed up you would then have a solid bitch.

However putting the other one across from you is by all means fucked up and I would be taking it up with the people the place the cars and displays for Autorama, you guys paid GOOD money to kinda get shafted.

Judging for that stuff is ridiculous. Especially on the Ridler. A few years back when the TV shows started making a REALLY big deal about the Ridler they showed the judging for it. Those judges were feeling the cars for things that couldn't be seen. If you are in a class with a lot of other nice cars, they have to nit pick the shit out of things to differentiate the cars. I know there is a little political BS that goes on with these type of thigns too but you've got a bunch of close to perfect cars competing so they have to nit pick. A friend of my dad's, Dale Boesh had a car up for the Riddle several years ago. The only thing written on his judging sheet was "dust on top of u-joints". The epitome of we can't find anything wrong with any of these cars to me.

My dad had a 55 Mercury panel truck he ran for ISCA points one winter in the mid-80's. Spent a lot of time around the show car stuff. And I wonder why I'm suck a picky mother fucker when it comes to car stuff. :lol:

As of right now no one has notified the people at Autorama that Ford will be Bringing a CJ. When they made the decision to have the Motown Display by the ford Display it was because of Matt's car. now that someone withen the ford Organization is possibly bringing another CJ to the show they should drop everything. you guys paid GOOD money to kinda get shafted.

yes I am sure their is some "who you know" but as Danny said I am somewhat in the know and I got my judges sheets after the show and I was quite surprised what they found on my car "oil pan gasket sealant oozing out"
"small oil leak" "polish under headlamp"how did they catch these items if its all about who you know.

And even if their is only 1 car in your class and you do get a trophy What is wrong with that


I never thought My car was anything special until the first day the show started and I probably answered 500 questions. If I had a nickle for every cell phone picture that was taken of my car I would be rich. and to me my car is just a nice Mustang but to hundreds of others that thought it was pretty sweet.

Carl you are right. Trunk have fun you have one of 50 and that is bad ass. I don't have a nice car it needs paint but the best thing is to have someone come up and ask things about it. I go to 1 car show that they judge and i know that i will not win be it's fun to hang out and talk to people.
