Surprisingly I ran some good times. I didn't hear many times, but I ended up running faster than an 06 Subaru STI (with gutted interior), a Mazda Protege5 (they have no power, but handle good), and a new Golf. All of which I figure should have done better. My best was a 44.9 while the above mentioned cars were running 46 / 47's. I was just there to have fun as I wasn't sure if they'd let me run it or not. The fastest time of the day I heard of was a 38 something, in a dealer run Evo (full race suspension, slicks, whatever power adders). The last pic of the subie just gives some more of an idea of the course. It had a couple tight turns, a loop, and slalom.

It was an Aroc event at Oakland University. The Motorsports Club Professor said they should try to set up another event there in August.

Their next one is September 16th with location tbd. Maybe they'll do it there again. What's nice about Aroc is it's optional to work. And if you do work, you get extra fun runs afterwards. You can also pay $1 per fun run if you didn't work. This event easily had over 100 cars and everybody got 5 runs, which is pretty good for an auto-x. You can check www.myautoevents.com for auto-x's all around. The Barstow ones under Saginaw Valley are pretty fun as you can reach speeds around 100 as it's at an airport. Hopefully I get the Talon running soon, and can have fun in a real car.
