attn those who store their cars

Cocksuckers. I ALWAYS cancel my plate in Feb and get a new one when I get the car going again to save some money on the plate cost for when the car isn't driving. So the state gets less money from me for my registration, and costs them more to make a new plate.

I think they get a pretty good labor rate on plate manufacturing. Lol

I just went to the sos on Thursday to get a new plate for my cobra. I didn't renew it for the last year as I didn't drive It. I keep full insurance in it year round because it's a collector policy. My birthday is in July. They were going to charge me for 23 months plus a late fee. They said there is no way to prove I haven't been driving it. I had to get a 60 day permit for $50 and then get a new one in July to not pay for the 10 months registration I didn't use.

This is why I do what I have always done. It is cheaper & easier
to simply maintain a plate year round on the car, and I do it without
having to maintain any insurance on it for half the year (when its stored).

Speaking of which, I just got her back from the shop yesterday & on the road
for the first time this year - man was it GREAT to have my baby back!

Why not just get a new plate, and not renew old tabs?

Personalized plate...

I just went through all of this last month. My mustang has been in storage in its car capsule for the last 7 years. Never moved an inch. I have a personalized plate that I've been able to renew, no problem, every year. I call up the insurance company for a proof of insurance and they email it to me.
Not this year! I simply didn't register it because I don't plan on driving it again this year. I'll keep storage insurance on it and get a new plate when it comes out of hibernation.

You don't have to prove innocence, how can they do this? It seems like the rules here are pretty stupid, who runs this joint? It would be nice to place a lawsuit against them.
