I want to make a few passes at Milan soon and have no experience what so ever. I was looking for a few tips on what to do and what to expect.

My car : 1990 lx 5.0 vert 5 speed 3.73 rear gear. Do I need to do anything special because I have a convertible?

thoughts, tips, your experience greatly appriciated

depends, What do you think it will run. stock 5.0 vert is pretty heavy I cant remember what the rule is at milan I think if you run faster than a 13 in a vert you need a cage

Faster than 13.49 requires only a rollbar not a cage in a vert. He will also need an SFI helmet to pass tech.

If you are going for the first time just go to learn and have fun. It will help you if you go with someone who has raced before just so they can show you the ropes. First few passes don't even worry about a burnout or anything, just get comfortable staging and knowing where to turn off. Once you are comfortable with the track, then try and get some ET out of your car rowing gears.

Good luck.

Nate Pritchett from Pinks has a few good tutorials. I know they are cheesy but it is good info for a starter. Look on you tube and 1320x.

Just relax and try not to be a hero out there. Watch people annd learn a bit before you get over confident. You will have a blast once you get some seat time...good luck!

Don't waste your time with smoky burnout after smoky burnout. A little will do, if you value tires over image.
