How much boost can i safely put to a stockk 98 cobra? I ran into a real sweet deal on a sc kit & other stuff for cheap, but the kit is producing 12lbs currently

12psi will be fine, just be overly conservitive on the tune up. Also what are you doing for a fuel system? What year is the car? Having enuff fuel at that boost level is very important, you only get one screw up with the stock motor.

well the kit comes with 42lb inj, t rex inline and i currently have a 255 in tank, the car is a 98, i came across a set of forged rods & pistons with 6k miles on them from an 04 cobra i'll throw in there?

Do your self a favor pic those rods pistons up if you wanna go threw the motor. How much are they hopfully under 350 get some arp2000 rod bolts. You can use the piston, but id get some CP's or Diamond. Those 03 pistons are fine for 550 all day long so people have made 900 on them it all depends on if it detonates. get 60 pounds if you want 500rwhp or more so you dont run them at to high of a duty cycle. As for stock they can take 10 psi for a while I see alot pushing 12psi without problem. Blowncobra on here runs 14psi he has had a s trim on his car for over 90k on a stock motor tuned by lideo car has 115k+. My setup should make somowere around 12-16psi I guess I will find out on the dyno, Iam hoping to last the summer then iam throwing manley rods and diamond pistons in it. If you want more then 450, Id step up to a ttrim to be efficant, and if its a procharger get a d1 dont waste your time on the p1 if you want over 500. I think that covers it

Your going to want to stay around 400, I have heard of a few going over 500rwhp but these were not being beat on a regular basis. Most people say it is in the tune and I agree, the powder metal rods don't care much for higher cylinder pressures at high rpms.

No idea how much boost that engine can take. I would figure 8-10 psi tops is about all i ever stick into most engines.

hmm

Hmmm what? You asked for opinions, you got opinions.
Greg's car makes a ton of power. It made a ton of power with a blower and
it's making a ton of power now with a turbo.
Sean obviously didn't want to make a recommendation to put that much
steam to it without knowing the particulars of your engine build.
In hindsight, a wise position to take.
I see nothing contradictory in either of those posts.
Maybe if you made a good faith effort to reach a reasonable deal instead of
continually stirring turds, you could get your shit running again.
Trying to antagonize him isn't going to help.
If I was Sean, I would probably be quite hesitant to even speak with you
about it at this point.
Good luck.
