For you guys that have it, can you confirm if it's really fiber to the home? I had a door to door ATT sales guy knock on the door this week selling Uverse and he claims it's FTTH. Last I knew, Uverse was not FTTH - just fiber to their DSLAM/VRAD/whatever and then copper to the house. This guy was insistent that it was 100% fiber.
I have WOW and am very happy. Didn't switch due the fiber concern and the fact they wanted about $50/mon more than I'm paying for WOW + Vonage.
No, it is Fiber to the main neighborhood box that feeds your area. Then standard lines to your house. The tech ran Cat5 into my house from the box on the house that covered phone/internet/TV signals. We installed the modem and then ran the Coax for the cable to the TV from the modem. Not too bad. So you are correct on fiber to the hub but copper to your house from there.
So far I am happy with the internet speeds. Gotta get my e-mail and wireless set up still though. The technician did not get those working before he left. And after 4 hrs at my house we were both tired. Had to rerun a few lines and in an hold house that got interesting. Took longer than we expected. But works well.
