AT&T Uverse

I have Comcast now and have been thinking about changing to AT&T. Anybody have AT&T Uverse? How does it compare to Comcast?
 
it doesnt compare. My girlfriend had it. They did a hell of a hack job installing it. Destroyed part of the carpet in her room, destroyed her entertainment center, left wires hanging everywhere. Not to mention you HAVE to use their router which sucks, because the 2wire routers they use are shitty. To add to that, you have to rent a box for every room you want a TV in...cant just plug a cable into the back of your TV. She had it for about a month and switched to WOW.
 
I will find out more next week when they install it. They bad better NOT 'F' up the installation at my house...... We'll see. I got tired of Comcasts prices and switched to U-Verse for the fiber optic internet.
 
I switched a few months ago to uverse. I LOVE it. It is much better than comcast!!

The price is cheaper and the customer service is 100x better. They have alot more options than comcast also.

I had no problems at all with the install. Nothing ruined, etc. My router is wireless. I have no clue what he is talking about with the router. I got a DVR and an additional box and I am not paying additional for either.

They also have more internet speeds that comcast and a better selection of TV packages.

My parents have it and LOVE it.....I'm waiting for it to be offered at my place.....they live like a mile away from me and they've had it since it was first introduced/offered, I don't know what the hell is taking them so long to offer it at my house.......

The fact that you have to use their modems and routers kills me along with having to "log in" to get internet access. fuck that. fuck ATT.
 
There is no login for access. It's just like a regular cable modem. WTH ?

You don't pay extra for additional receivers either. It's all digital, that's why you can't just plug the cable to your TV. Early next year, there will be no analog cable anyway.
 
just got it installed yesterday and from what i have seen so far its pretty good. i like it better than comcast, especially the price. i'm not paying any extra for the 2 additional receivers. i think i am officially done with comcast.

For you guys that have it, can you confirm if it's really fiber to the home? I had a door to door ATT sales guy knock on the door this week selling Uverse and he claims it's FTTH. Last I knew, Uverse was not FTTH - just fiber to their DSLAM/VRAD/whatever and then copper to the house. This guy was insistent that it was 100% fiber.

I have WOW and am very happy. Didn't switch due the fiber concern and the fact they wanted about $50/mon more than I'm paying for WOW + Vonage.

If you go pull the power plug on your modem and plug it back in you'll get it. if not they've upgraded their systems and I'll be happy.

I've had power outages since it was installed. That would do the same thing, no? If so then they have upgraded because I don't have to enter a password.
 
get the best package possible and its alright.

i started at the lowest and now have upgraded to the best...


ive never had comcast but im pleased. a couple gagsters did the install, but put booties over their timbo boots
 
Install tech just called and said he's on his way. I'm pretty excited to get this and finally take full advantage of my LG LCD's HD capabilities! Oh, and to have the second receiver in the kid's room so we don't have to constantly watch spongebob on the big tv.....
