Are you gonna use it in your engine? Or in a spare parts coat rack? I thought I had some pics with rods/pistons used for coat hooks.

yea what im thinking is that when they rebuilt the motor they didnt clean it properly because 90% of the rod bearings look brand new still but some of them are worn beyond belief...the cylinder walls themselves arent bad and i honestly think a ball hone would fix them

I will be totally honest here and tell you that its a bit of a crap shoot. You could most likely clean them up and reuse them but there is a high potential for noise. Will it effect engine operation ? Normally no unless its got alot of piston rock.

i think ill try to clean up the worst piston and cylinder and put it all in and see how it goes...im gonna measure any movement with a mic in the morning

Call around to local machine shops. Most of them offer glass bead cleaning. I believe baldwin automotive over on baldwin in pontiac offers this service.

Smooth them out and run em! Let'em clack for a wile its good for em, Lets ya know their in there an movin!

thats what my first thoughts were...id like to get another set of nowak n-400 pistons and keep the same comp, but i cant find the damn things anywhere or find any info on them..ill prolly just wind up going to diamond

junk them! why risk it?

no ive had the piston out for a little bit now and they have been moved around...they were 180 out from each other when i took them out
