Are having driveshafts re-tubed still a thing?

I need to do u-joints on my 1500HD, and the tubes are hella MI crusty. New 2-piece is $600-800. Anybody know if having a driveshaft re-tube'd is still a thing? We used to do them all the time when I grew up in NY, but have not had a driveshaft retubed in 18+ years. Last place was a shop near Telegraph/Joy.

Thoughts/Recommendations? West side/NW side or Pontiac/Waterford would be a plus.

I used Shaftmasters I was happy with their work.

I had them shorten a driveshaft on my 79 Caprice. Their idea of balancing was to see where there weld job was not true, and weld a washer on the opposite side. I was not impressed.

Was the washer too much or not enough to balance it right? Maybe they could use a dime...??? ;)

washers are commonly used, was it out of balance, or was your only complaint that they used a washer?
Both. I guess I am just spoiled. Joint clutch and gear did my 53F100 shaft 20 years ago, and it was well done, minimal balance needed.

I've used Dynotech in Troy, and they always do an awesome job on Aluminum shafts. They actually spin balance.
