Apparently, you can't fix stupid in Camp Mustang...

Is that your Silver GT, Raj? Really nice...

I think the Camaro has the Mustang beat in the looks department except for the rear end. But I think the Challenger looks better than both, just sits too high.

Am I the only one that dislikes the 2013 Mustang front fascia?

Probably.

I'm happy with my Track-Pack GT. Do I care that it's a little slower around a track in factory form? Nahhhh. Looks wise, it kicks the Camaro's ass (yes - a Camaro guy that doesn't like the new ones) and although it doesn't transform into an Autobot, I'm OK with that. Not to mention....mine stickered for much less than the one in the video and for less than half the difference, I can make it handle just as well as the 1LE. :icon_smil

I couldnt even find it on the GM website with avalible options to dispute that. They've got the 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1. Everything I read indicated that it had suspension modifications, same powertrain as the SS.

That's because...the 1LE is an SS track pack! Go build an SS, you pick, 1SS or 2SS. You will notice the 1LE wheels in the wheel options, if you pick them it adds the whole 1LE package. Or you can pick the 1LE package on the options page.

Because, the 1LE is not a new trim, it is a track pack on an SS! Not a Boss competitior, a GT track pack competitor. Apples to apples. The Motor Trend video Jeff posted is then the perfect comparison.

I'm guessing the one in the video was a 2SS, you can get a 1SS 1LE. I think all the press cars were basically loaded because Chevy MyLink was also new. Every 1LE I've been in had MyLink, but it's an option.

In Ford's defense, the GT track pack has been out how long? GM had a while to bench mark that and make sure they beat it, although they seem to have gotten a little carried away when beating it

Imagine that.....

Yes, the front end is beautiful :)

Thank you, it is a camaro stomping mofo.

My car has a couple bolt ons, I would still consider it stock....I would LOVE to run a similar camaro, and I'm certain it would destroy it. I completed pounded a 2011 Audi S4 owned by another drag racer. The new 5.0 cars run well if you drive them right.

I want to see one of you guys with the new GT (and track pack) make it to a road course event this year... And maybe a 5th Gen SS - because I haven't seen anything newer than a 4th gen on a road course personally.

I'm sure you'll see at least one GT track pack that I think is pretty stock at the track a lot this year (JScottGT). I don't think I actually know a single SS owner at all though which seems odd.

I'm pretty sure that Jay was at Grattan when you were there Kevin. It's the blue color that Brad posted above. It was pretty much stock but rolling on Hoosiers. It may be slightly less stock this year though.

I just realized why I don't know anyone with a Camaro despite knowing a million people with Mustangs. I know a million people with Vettes. Although Stock for Stock, the 1LE might do better around a track than a base C6 or any C5, you can get a used base C6 or C5 a bunch cheaper than a new Camaro because you certainly aren't going to find a used 1LE.

Exactly what I was going to type. I have about 2/3 of the cost of a 1LE (or new Mustang) into my C5Z and it's faster than any of them. Lightly modded C5Zs are the best bang for the buck track car out there right now.

That and stock for stock is including tires, where the 1LE has a pretty big advantage over any Vette it would be faster than, and who has a pre 07 Vette with stock tires, and who tracks their car on stock tires anyway?

And still 99% of the population can't drive any of them to their full potential on a road course.

Bench race all you want...it doesn't mean shit.

I do agree that the 13 rear is better, which is why I posted pics from the front to go with my previous comment of front fascia. I don't mind the hood vents on the new hood.
