Anyone watching the Cheifs and Bengals game?!?!

i have been flipping back and fourth between games, i missed that
KC QB started running and slide... Then out of no where... Bengals leveled him while he was sliding... He gave himself up way before the hit... Sent to the hospital...

Yeah Greens head smoked the ground. He was wrecked pretty bad. I was pissed no flag was thrown.

they just announced he's ok, suffered a concussion.....i just saw one quick replay, but the color analyst for the game said he thought it was a good no call because it was too late for gaether's to stop his momentum when green slid:dontknow:

the slide rule helps a little bit, but there are plenty of times when qbs slide and are still gonna get hit legally due to a defensive players momentum, or they slide late....i think the league goes to far in protecting the qb anyways, let them get down like the rest of the players

The commentators for that game said it was a BS hit... Gauther had plenty of time to jump over him or dodge him.. You can't tell me a professional athlete has no control over his body when in motion...

it's one thing to have no control, it's another to stop 300lbs on a dime when moving at full speed.....like salsbury said on espnews: this is the NFL, not the matrix...how's he gonna jump over him when he was already in a dive BEFORE green slid?

So he was trying to take out his legs? You can look at the reply again... Green slide then he went into a dive...

he was going after him, period, and green went into a sideways slide at the same time geathers went into his hit......if a qb wants to avoid contact then he needs to slide away from all traffic, otherwise chances are he's going to get hit.....you can't stop 300lbs of momentum in that amount of time.....i've seen it called both ways on hits like that, and it always pisses me off when the defensive player gets flagged when they made their moves so close together.......

A professional player knows the QB is going to slide when it gets close... No reason to go full force at him... Look what happened to the dude... Sent to the ER with a BAD CONCUSION...

The whole league knows QBs don't have enough padding to take shots like that... What's the point? You can ALWAYS take the QB down lighter then a regular running back or wide receiver... Trent's head BOUNCES off the field... Look at how he went after him... He was either going to take out his legs or get leveled like he did... Notice how the other guy SLOWED his motion down...

Not all QB's slide. Most do yes, but some don't. You have to assume he's not stopping. When your job is to stop people from moving forward, that's what you do. Even if he started the slide, a person can't realize that, then change his intentions, then change his body's action in .3 seconds.

I do agree but he clearly gave himself up... Then how come he other guy saw it and changed motion... They both were going at the same time...

It's tragic and thank god he's not more seriously injured...but this is a FULL contact sport. Things happen. But with all the new rules and shit, accidents are sometimes charged as intent. Look at LT/Theismann...or Montana, or Ainkman's 45 thousand concussions. It happens. It's a risk you run being a football player.

that's just not true....first of all, most qbs have MORE padding than rbs or recievers.....and there are PLENTY of qbs that go down harder than a rb or wr(culpepper outweighs nearly every lb in the game, and vick is faster/quicker than most rbs/wrs)

as far as his intent, i'm not going to argue that because it obviously objective, but he was involved with another player and was going full speed with his sole objective to get to the ball carrier.......a lot of players get hurt in the nfl on legal hits, so what if his head bounces off the turf? what does that prove?
