Anyone tuned a LS3?

My car's mechanically stock but I'm using a predator and have someone that can make custom tune files, currently it's running 24.5* on the topend @ 12.8:1 afr, can anyone suggest a timing curve on 93 oc?

I'm not sure about the LS3 but my LS2 doesn't tolerate much more timing than GM put into it. It knocks slightly in the midrange even with the stock timing table. I tweaked the fueling to set AFR where I wanted it and left the timing stock.

25-27 total depending on fuel quality and altitude. Drop the AF a touch down to 12.5 or so. You will find it will make a bit more power with a tiny bump in the timming.

YMMV though so use cuation and READ THE PLUGs ! If the plugs aren;t happy all the wideband data and logging in the world won't make it right.

i dunno seems slow to me, flows about 350g/s in 2nd gear, that about right? car's stock down to the air filter

Whats it run in the 1/4. 350grm/sec sounds about right for a stock engine in term of air consumption. Headers/exhuast and a CIA will wake it up about 20-30hp.

hasn't been down the 1/4, they typically dyno about 390whp stock so i dunno *shrug*

sounds normal to me. numbers seem about 20hp stronger then I see on my machine but thats just the way it is.

so aside from the afr/timing i've fixed up, where's the free power??? i'm not paying 1500$ for headers and $500 for a damn intake lol

the computers show timing as BTDC correct, so if you add timing, are you increasing or decreasing the numbers in the table?

your expecting free power ? Most of the GM factory calibrations are pretty good IMHO and rarely do they offer much extra power. Occassionaly you will find a engine thats just better then some of the others and turn up 10hp. Thats pretty rare. Now if you cuouple exhuast, headers,CIA with tunning the gains really are fiarly impressive. Tunning in 20-30hp is just a myth. Well there was a c6 zo6 or 2 that I saw pickup a bunch but thats a whole different animal.

Well I had an asston of torque management in 1st gear, that was the main reason it needed to be flashed, cleaning up the afr/timing i'm sure helped SOME, but there's an incredible amount of torque management in the stock tune... I wouldn't get ANY power delivery in 1st until 5000rpm if I started at 2000rpm
