Anyone skilled with an F-Body trans swap?

Hey everyone, I'm from over at Xceedspeed :emb: I drive a '94 Z28 with the fabled 4L60E trans that is going really bad, really fast. I can't get much help over there concering these cars so I thought I'd take a shot over here.

I'm interested in swapping the T56 manual transmission into my car. Supposedly this is a fairly simple procedure but I live in a condo. I have no garage and no access to one. I also have no tools. Heres a writeup concerning the swap:

The most difficult parts appear to be cutting the hole for the shifter and general disassembly. If someone, anyone has experience with these transmissions and/or is willing to take me under their wing sometime this Summer to get this done, I would be forever grateful. I really don't want to have to get rid of my car over this and believe it would be a great learning experience. I will pay as well. Cheers!

Yes, all thats done to the car is headers and exhaust work. I was planning a camshaft upgrade but then the trans started to go. I figured if at all possible I would try to put the manual in and just call it a day. Plan B is a new 4L60E; if I can't get anyone to help.
 
It would easier to buy a t56 car and start over vs swapping in a t56. Also the lt1 t56 is not as good as the later ls1 t56. You will be hard pressed to find all the parts you need at a reasonable cost. I would figure your budget should realistically be close to $3k considering small parts and a trans plus pedal assembly,clutch, etc.

Would make more sense to rebuild the 4l60e.

forget the 700r4 build a turbo 400. those thinks are tanks. as far as the t56. in the mustang world i know that d&d has a complete bolt in kit to swap t56's in. might have one for the f body to. i know this doesnt really answer your question but i figured id trhow my .02$ in
