Anyone know anything about this 82 Stang FS?

One of my Dad's friends is looking at this car and loves it but called me with a concern about it and it's not something close that I'm going to go check out myself. Anyone know anything about it? Specifically who built the engine? Or if you've looked at it, and or owned it, really anything. I'll try to get the name of the supposed builder later, but he said it was someone out of Redford (really narrows it down huh?.

Thanks

I know nothing about this car, but just reading the ad alone is enough to scare me away. Its looks like a pretty hacked together '82 for that price.

Looks like T top car. I would check the heads first. If they are stock heads with a valve job then why put all that in the lower end? Unless they are a good set of 69 windsors or some GT40s.

Backs up my personal gut feeling, Thanks

I was skeptical when he called me asking about it but even more so after finding the ad. Needless to say I have my reservations about it really having all those catch-phrase goodies but he is not so worried about that I guess. He says it drives good, and pulls good but is just concerned about a vibration in the engine that doesn't go away. It's there when parked when blipping the throttle and says it doesn't go away through the r's. For me it's impossible to say online or on the phone but I'm curious if the engine wasn't put together (and "balanced" so he says) as a 50oz imbalance and he ended up using a 28oz balancer and or flywheel seeing that if I recall early 80's was the transitional area. I have no clue how noticeable of a vibration that would cause as I've never tried it, lol. He says it's not too bad but feels as if it's in the trans tunnel even sitting still. I dunno, I told him if it's not screaming at you then I would keep looking, (reffered him to MM) of which he replied that's the problem, it is screaming at him. So apparently he likes everything about it except the questionable vibration, regardless of the fact he didn't know if they were iron heads or not running pump gas at 11:1 with most likely a short duration performer, or performer rpm cam :undecided

I will be in Jackson tomorrow. I'll swing by and check it out if you want.
I'm not that concerned as I don't really know the guy, just trying to help out. My Dad just referred him to me and I figured I just may get lucky and someone on here would know something about it. Thanks alot, but don't go out of your way unless you are interested in calling someones bluff I guess.

Oh yea, I've found it listed back in Oct for $5700 but the pics appear to clearly be from springtime to me. The car is also posted on foureyedpride under user; FatBoys86Vert but the pic of the guy in one of his albums doesn't fit the description I got at all of the guy.

for 82 the motor wouldnt be a roller, so either its not a retrofit, edelbrock doesnt make retrofit roller cams. lie number 1

why have hardened push rods without guide plates? not needed. and who would spend the cash to have factory 82 shit converted to adj valve train?

im betting its a rebuilt stock motor with a edelbrock performer cam................. and thats it.
