Anyone know anything about Audi's?

1.8t FTW. Especially if it's paired with a 5 or 6 speed.

I don't get the whole walk away if timing belt not serviced deal.
Like that's the only car that needs a timing belt past 100k miles.
Change it ... it's not that big of a deal. 1.8T is a lot better engine that the 2.0t ever will be.

It is indeed a 5 speed! :) I was thinking the same thing. It'd be a fun car to drive and little more stylish than the average Civic.

Car is located in Farmington Hills. Some guy that says he's a mechanic and works on these cars all the time. I like the looks of the car a lot. I've only done a timing belt on a 3.0L V6 Nissan Pathfinder once in my lifetime, never on anything else. Do you own a shop? How much is it for someone else to do it? Probably pretty expensive I'm guessin.

I don't own a shop, but I've got a lot of experience with these cars. I had the second one cranking out nearly 300 HP with my lil 45 trim turbo. The A4 is getting a Megasquirt EFI, 60 trim, rods, injectors, and fuel pump upgrade. Shooting for around 500 HP with it, which is doable.

they're not that bad to change eh? I have about 80k on each to go before i think about changing again. I've got two 1.8t's in the drive, one with 15-16lbs of boost the other is stock... and they're both fun to drive...

What cars are they in? I had my 03 Jetta running 22 psi w/ meth injection using the stock intercooler. It put 280 to the wheels (that was a 45 trim).

It's more comfortable too. The parts are expensive if you buy them from the dealer or don't do your own work (I do all of my own work). I think you'd really like the car. Take it for a test drive...

I do all of my own work also. And i've had several random foreign cars and have learned that S&G Auto Parts is my friend! :) I'm actually moving all next week and will be worry about the car deal when I am settled in the new crib. I will go take it for a ride then and let you know. THanks again for your help

they are both beetles.. modded on has..

-APR 93 Octane Chip (Chipped and Stock Modes)
-Samco Silicone Turbo Inlet & Boost Hoses
-ECS Race N-75 valve
-Forge 007P Diverter Valve
-Eurosport Cool-Flo Intake
-Neuspeed Cat Back
-ECS Dog Bone Inserts
-Neuspeed Short Shifter
-ECS Stage 1 Clutch

If you need parts, see Reiko. Doesn't matter what it is, he gets the parts fast, and cheaper than anywhere else I've ever been. I'll still go to him even though I live in Fenton.

That APR chip can support a big turbo upgrade if you do it right, just an FYI. :) I ran the 93 chip with my 45 trim. Nice mod list. Only thing we have with the Audi is a South Bend Stage 4.5 clutch and lightweight flywheel. Still stock boost, which is around 8 psi (haven't gotten the gauge installed yet), so it's a sluggish 150 HP.

Speaking of gauges, I don't see a boost gauge listed in your mods... ;)

yea, the only thing i havent gotten from him were the coil packs, kinda needed them while on lunch. got those from S&G tho and they werent too pricey..

its got a triple gauge pod in the center of the dash... i'll throw up a picture thread and stop hi-jacking.. lol
