Anyone have a decent amount of experience with the grand prix gtp?

I just picked up an 05 and it needs some love. whats up with the competition package? It has some vacuum lines unhooked, what do I do for performance and then stop before things break? Lol
 
basic bolt ons should get it into the mid-low 13's (headers, tune, pulley, rockers) but take care of the maintenance stuff first, comp g group was bilstien struts, 3.29 gear trans (instead of 2.93), tap shift, red claipers, hud and badge. after 13's the trans becomes a huge weak spot and is very expensive to make reliable.
 
ZZP for sure. Get the U-bend delete, headers, tune, cold-air intake, 3.4 pulley, and a decent set of plugs and wires. Should be a solid 13 second car by then. Do the U-bend delete first, it's a pinch in the exhaust that really restricts it, and any other mods won't work out as well without it. A smaller pulley without the U-bend delete will cause knock retard. Oh yeah, save up the money to have Detroit Gearbox rebuild the trans after a little while :lol:

It has a pully/tune and cold air. The trans was done 500 miles ago.

ill post some pictures this thing is kinda a mess lol. I need to replace the front seats. Do all gp have the same seats?

He should be ok for the most part with just the cam if he doesn't get headers etc LOL mine was more like:

4. Get greedy
5. blow it up
6. Forged 20 over, heads etc
7 Blow up trans
8 Blow up trans
9 blow up trans
10 FUCK IT. Get GTO LOL
 
The po-lice wrecked mine before I could start going that far with it :lol:. I just had the basic bolt-ons, then the cops put it on the curb chasing some dude in a stolen car. The insurance money bought my GTO :D
 
Ill post some pics so you can get your lolz in haha. It has an exhaust leak at the header, i wonder if i can find some used headers.......

A 2005 GTP with the Comp package is a early 2005 model. They were discontinued halfway though 2005 to make room for the V8 GXP model that came out the 2nd half of 2005.

The Comp package adds the padle shifters, 3.29 gear, and painted red brake calipers. Also 5 button DIC.

I have had plenty of GTPs and Regal GS. The 99-2001 cars run the fastest. The 2004+ dont seem to respond as well. I used to own a 2004 GTP Comp G. That 04 Comp G was the only supercharged 3.8 car I had to have the trans rebuit on.... and it was not the quickest one I had either!

Also, the 04+ supercharged cars have a gen 5 blower vs the older ones having a gen 3. You cannot pulley the 04 gen 5 cars down like a gen 3
 
Lol.. I dont know, its like tube the oil cap threaded into is missing, and someone used jb weld.. plus its all broken, I dont think it has a gasket.
