Anyone familiar with the GM proving grounds recognize this sign?

Picked up this lighted sign today to hang. I think it might be from the GM proving grounds; the guy said he had another un-salvageable sign like this one that was lettered 'GENERAL MOTORS'. The letters are wood and I think it's mostly aluminum.

If anyone has any information on it, let me know. Thanks.

I couldn't get the guy to even let me look at the other one, much less take it with me. Not really sure why since I think they're just going to throw it away (it was an estate sale and they had a dumpster outside the house). Just kept telling me it was full of mold and rusty (I'm guessing corrosion since it's aluminum).

It looks like the sign that use to hang over the doors of the offices at the Milford Proven ground. Could be wrong but It loks like it haven't been out there in years!

Thanks. It'd be awesome if I could find a picture or something that showed it, I've never been out there past one of the first buildings.

Hung it up tonight and it still lights up!
