Anyone ever seen this on a GY Wrangler tire?

Just noticed these exposed metal chords while working on the truck last night. Looks like one of the other tires has 1 spot like that as well. Obviously the tires aren't worn much, and they are from the 14th week of 2010 so they aren't that old either. To me it appears as if the mold wasn't quite thick enough there and it just came out like this. When I bought them a few years ago they weren't like this that's for sure!

Are these things going to come apart on me?

I'd call the tire shop you bought them from and ask what can be done... if nothing then try to contact goodyear.

I would say they aren't going to come apart but I'm no tire expert by any means.
Wouldn't want to drive on them myself

Yup, sounds like a good plan. I already spoke with GY and got a reference # on record and the wife is going to take it to a GY dealer at lunch for an inspection. We'll see what comes next.
