i had a guy come in with a powdercoating business telling me about how he does teflon coating. I thought it would be pretty cool on a car since i wanted to do a set of black wheels...and i am really bad about cleaning them...this way I can just spray them with pam and hose them off

The stock car guys do this to keep brake dust from sticking. High-end road race teams have also been doing this for several years.

Whats the durability like with that? I know when someone used a fork or metal spatula on my frying pan I was super pissed.

I don't recall scrubbing them much. The stock SRT4 wheels, I do remember hating to clean.
Plus, the brake dust and dirt didn't really show.

This stuff works really well. Just spray it on your dry wheels and tires, then blast it off after 30 seconds. Obviously it is not going to be perfect without agitating it, but it does work well.

I use it on my wheels, but if the wheels haven't been cleaned in a while, you will have to scrub them.

Armor All makes a product that works really to repel dirt and brake dust and make cleaning them super easy. i used it when i had my black wheels and the brake dust would rinse right off.

this guy tests it for 200 miles and shows the difference in treated wheels and untreated.
