anyone ever dump a small block into a Ranger?

I did a few swaps...but it was many years ago... acually I kept most the parts from a 87 or so mustang...injected 5.0, t-5, same radiator and hoses, motorsport bolt in 8.8 axle housing, slightly stronger f coil springs, try y headers off i think 65 mustang...had to make a new shifter handle, but it was easy to make one...they went to the track, but i forget the et..13.20's?
they also got 24-25 mpg.

Yeah I've heard stories of people dropping stock 5-0's in and getting awesome gas mileage. I've had 3 rangers, and all 3 have had different motors. 2.3, 3.0, 4.0.

obviously the 2.3 was the best on gas, and a blast to drive (2wd stick flareside, light as a feather).

the 3.0 got the same mileage if not worse than the 4.0 but was slow as a turd dropping from a cow's ass. The later two aren't fast by any means, but the 4.0 in my ranger (4x4) seems stronger than the 4.0 (4x4) in my 2002 2d explorer.

Always wanted to try a standard cab 2wd 4.0 stick flareside. I've heard they pick up pretty quick, but too late for that now.

Hmmmm....

I picked up my 98 ranger witha 351 swap in it. I had no clue about motors or anything back then so i dont really know what trans it had. Although, someone told me it was a 351 with an AOD trans...idk though. All i know is i had it for like a week then sold it. Dont really remember too much about it...

sorry..
