so i went to see if my starter would crank on the car today (waiting on a 1" spacer for my intake apparently 3/8 inch isnt high enough to clear the throttle linkage on ford racing valve covers...)

but there was no response when i turned the key over- only my fuel pump cycling. but granted theres still quite a bit i have to connect on to the engine before i even want it to start up... but ive heard a lot of people not being able to start the car after switching over to the t5

that being said my question is what to do with the harness plug that pops out of the trans tunnel. i know its a 4 prong connector.. 2 for the reverse lights and 2 go to a switch on the AOD... do those need to be jumpered together? and i found the black connector that needs to go on the manual pedals, so i will use that... im not concerned about my reverse lights i just want it to be able to start

On a T5 car the neutral safety switch wires on the harness in the tunnel are jumped from the backside of the connector. You will need to hook the two wires (cant remember for sure which 2 are the NSS and which are the Reverse lights) to one of the 2 connectors on the switch that is on the left side of the clutch pedal assembly (closest to the clutch pedal) Or you can just jump the wires if you dont feel like doing it right but make sure its out of gear before you try starting it of course!

Here is a site I found when I was doing alot of wiring on my car. It was very helpful
