Anyone else noticed this?

Its a public sidewalk, how can they fine the establishment
I am talking about the bars that have set up gated off areas, that way you can take your drink outside with you. If you set up a patio area and its gated off, you are still responsible for it

Did you clean up all the cigarette butts? No use complaining about it unless you cleaned them up.

:gr_jest:

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. That was in reference to a response in my littering thread (http://www.motownmuscle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=126138&page=2)

I pick up trash all the time and throw it out. Often in front of the idiots that litter. Sorry, but I draw the line there, some tools cigarette butts aren't something I want my hands to touch :D

A bag from McDonalds is biodegradable too.

Yes and its allways the filter thats left on the ground. show me where there is a 1/4" long piece of cigerette with no filter , just paper and tobacco . How the hell can you relate that to a 8" X 11 heavy duty paper bag .

I think he related them as both being paper and biodegradable :dontknow: :D

not if the workers dont serve out there. Rock on 3rd in RO created an outdoor covered patio just for smokers. The stipulation....waitresses dont go out there

That is correct. Not a loophole, the law just says if its outside in an area that isn't served, smoke it up. I can see more places doing that where they can, I see no harm in it. Add a few giant ashtrays in those spots, walla, most of the littering problem solved.

The funny thing is the same people that helped pass that law want to go after wood burners and hot rodders. I hate smoke. I am not a smoker. But It used to be a free country. Now its only free if you follow everyone elses rules. I like red meat. Some people think of the animals it came from. I say if you do not like it? Do not eat it. But do not judge me. When they pass more laws so you can not use your fire place and you only drive your hot rod on cruise day. meat eater will be next. Can passing laws and taking you freedom away. I say there are already plenty of laws to follow and I do not need anymore.

"Free country" has never meant you can do anything you want whenever you want. You are only free to do things if they do not directly harm other people.

Wow...How nice it was coming after hanging around at Snookers for 5 hours and not smelling like a dirty nasty ashtray.
But there was 1/2 dozen ppl smoking at the front door.

cigarette smoke indirectly harms other people ;)

Incorrect. It has DIRECT effect on the others around the smoker.
An uninsured driver involved in an accident has an indirect effect on other people paying for insurance, because they arent involved in the accident, but their rates are effected.

Cause the average person goes through maybe 1 bag a week vs the smoker that goes through maybe 20 smokes a day.

I need to take a pic of the North bound entrance ramp (driving east on M59) to get on M53. There is a huge pile of butts by the curb there. Pisses me off honestly.

On a side note I went to Dooleys yesterday with my dad to get out of the house to watch some of the tigers game and it was awesome with no smoke.

I could not be happier about the new law.
