I got this off one of the Ford email lists I have been on for years and years.
I posted about using Muriatic acid (availabel @ Home Depot and pool supply stores) to de-rust parts... which works incredibly well BTW, but another guy posted info similar to this:

It's completely non-toxic, which is something that you don't normally have when de-rusting/acid dipping parts.
I plan to try it one of these days when I have the time to set up the rig, but was wondering if anybody else has done this? Seems like a great way to derust old seat frames, hinges.. anything that you don't want to get blasting media into.
