I recently bougth my first chevy in over 20 years. Has anybody had any experience with the Holley or Wieand Stealth Ram intake for TPI engines?

I actually have hand on real world experience with these. I have built a few motors with them and also tunned alot of engine with the stealth ram. what exactly are you after ?

I picked up a 90 vette convert with 57K miles. It is pretty torquey but after driving sbf's for years I am kinda disappointed in it's performance. I am looking around and there is not much out there for these cars?? I am thinking about a 383 kit with a set of ProComp 210's and a Holley Stealth Ram intake. Still thinking about what cam to get too???

My question about this intake is it looks like a high rev or a boost intake. What I have read it puts the power in the 5K rpm band??? Looking for some real world experience.

It will not clear the Hood of a C4 vette. Your options are LT1 intake modified or a TPIS miniram which is a POS, IMO !

383 is not a bad choice but why stop there ?Unless your goal is to reuse the block ? what your end game with this engine ?

The power that the thing makes is very good, Like Sean said, it wont fit under the stock hood. Also, stay away from those chinese heads, I know quite a few people that have bought them and are kicking themselves for it, poor components, and some very interesting casting issues IE large misalignment of where the cast is assembled together.

Thanks for the heads up on the intake height. How much does it not clear by? Can it be machined for clearance? ProComps are made in Australia. I have had good luck with them, especially the cnc'd version, I get them bare and build them myself, Isky 8005 springs, Isreali valves... I have found the castings actually cleaner than Edelbrocks.

My intent for the car is to pick up an extra 100 to 150 streetable horspower, not a strip car.

TMK they are no longer made in austrailia, being the last thing I heard was they merged w/ protopline, which then got bought by comp cams, and then moved to the USA. All of the Procomp heads I have seen definately do not look high quality enough to be cast anywhere but china, but to each his own.

Just get some CNC ported 58cc chambered corvette TPI heads from ET cylinder head. Good bang for the buck on those. Plenty of flow. Toss a LT1 converted Intake on it or a edelbrock RPM dual plane with an EFI conversion. you will obviousy need a custom prom at that point so I am sure you will be getting in touch with me at the shop for one of those. A mild cam at that point is all it should take.

You'll end up with a 9.8:1 comp with an 0.04 gasket. and this should be a good easy recipe for roughly 100hp and alot more RPM over the TPI setup you have now.
