Anybody have a built AOD?

Thinking about doing an auto swap and was wondering If anybody local had any AOD input/advice. The car I want to swap is an 03 cobra, Preferably would like MVB, Push button OD, and a transbreak. Ive tossed around the idea of a 4r70w and c4, but it seems like 4r70w's are real expensive and a c4 doesnt have an OD. Im prolly gonna give Mike Ridings and Joel's on joy a call and talk to them about building one soon. Any input guys? advice?

4R70 is an AODE, both will cost you the same to build.

ridings is building one for my car, havent run it yet but excited to get the car out....

didn't go with a trans brake, got a good deal with mike.
 
I put a 4R70W in my Fox Body, full manual VB and a taller custom stall. Lockout/AOD on a button in the console and I love it. I've got a couple friends back home who have between them an 800HP '03 Cobra w/AOD and a 500HP '96 Cobra with an AODE/4R and they both are very happy.

I had my builder put cryogenic internals and the heavy duty bands in since it was a full custom build, I'd suggest that. If you go with an off-the-shelf trans I'd say to at least step up the bands and do the "J-mod", but it sounds like you're going for a full build so I'm sure the builder will suggest beefing it up inside. Don't forget a nice trans. cooler, though.

Right, no doubt there very strong when built right. But im not looking to spend a fortune on a big name brand trans. Ill try and get ahold of mike ridings and see what he reccomends for my setup.

I also build these units for silly power. Give me a call if you'd like a competing qoute.
 
You shouldn't catch shit for that, IMO that'd be the main reason to get a trans brake with a 4R build.
