Any Tesla owners in here?

Roadrage

Easily Irritated
I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on a Model 3 this week. I average about $600 a month in gas in my 4 cylinder regal and the gas saving alone would cover almost my entire payment on the Tesla. Just curious if anyone has one and what kind of likes/dislikes you have on it.

I dont. However, I'm curious to hear anyone's input on the actual cost of owning electric. What did they save in fuel vs how much the household electric bill increased (plus whatever it costs to charge while not at home).

From what I have seen about Tesla so far, the fit and finish is subpar but the technology is new/different.

I don't own or have really even touched one before. A girl I work with has one though, not sure of the model, it looks like the Marshmallow man from Ghostbusters. I think she likes it though.
Benefit is, all sorts of places have power connections that you can scam a charge from, where as if you have gasoline or diesel, you have to pay for it.

Fuck no... Walk the fuck away... Almost all parts are dealer... Almost all parts are unavailable... WALK THE FUCK AWAY...

If you live by a Meijer I think you can get free charging there. I heard they opened it up to Model 3's. Otherwise, I think they are a bit overpriced. But hey, if you can swing the charging it might work out. Until they go out of business, they should hold their resale.

That's what warranties are for. I don't mind driving a loaner for months. Less miles on mine!
I worked on one recently. Not a fan at all.
Why?

There is a local place that has many Tesla parts...
soon you'll have enough parts to just build me one!

Run like hell from it. Just run like hell.
any specific reason why?

not sure what caused that fire
the car crashed into a house and the gas line in the house caused the fire
It was a car crash that caused the fire.

I deal with a ton of car fires that are caused by crashes and fires caused by defective parts, and the vast majority are good old gas engine vehicles, and most o the people that are killed in an accident with a fire were killed by the crash, not the fire. The media LOVES to do stories about Tesla, much like they dont seem to mind psycho taxi drivers but love to do stories about Uber/Lyft drivers who do anything illegal.

I'd like to see if you could use it for what you do. Range, charging, etc. Make a YouTube page showing all intricacies of your life and then you can quit your dayjob. You're welcome! :)

I have a face made for radio, no videos for me!

Sounds like you're pretty well set on getting one. I'll be interested in your experience if you do.

My only question is do you get enough miles to a charge for a full days worth of driving? Sounds like you put a lot of miles on a vehicle.

Have you looked into any other electrics? The BMW i3 doesn't seem too bad.

^ Aside from the part where BMW hasn't made a quality vehicle since the 80's. :D

Prius > Tesla.
Fuck that fake company.

I'd probably get sick of everyone flipping me the bird, as I know I do that to every Tesla I see on the road...

I was hoping people could give me some input on issues they have had with Teslas to help convince me it's a bad idea! So far the only people that have said anything negative about the cars are people that haent owned one. I know Tesla owners are huge fanboys though, so it's tough to get real input. I am leaning toward Tesla because the 300 Mile range is perfect for me, I drive about 250 miles a day 3 days a week, and 70ish on the other 2 days. The thought of never putting a drop of gas in my daily driver sounds awesome...and having driven one, I have to say the feel of going 0-80 in 5ish seconds in a family sedan is pretty addicting.

I agree about the BMW, but Tesla seems pretty real to me, I see them all over the place, dont think I have that grreat of an imagination.

Ehh, I have 2 middle fingers to say hello back :flipa: and I can use them both because the car steers itself...usually.lol

Prius? Lol. That’s funny.
Amen
