any one know the diff?

I would start looking for a good lawyer by the sounds of it, eitherway you will need one. Well worth the money IMO.
 
Im not going into details, but i got into a fight with some kid and he ended up in the hospital pretty bad. I was fine, They tried to charge me with that 10 year felony, but my lawyer got it down to aggrivated assult. It was aggrivated and not just normal assult because, and i quote: "hit him more than 5 times". Now aggrivated assult was only a high mist. I ended up gettin probation, alot of court fees and had to alch test every day almost. I think i got off easy because i was very honest in what happened and i was respectfull to the court, pleeded guilty and said my sorry's and because my record was clean.

There was also no way i could see them throwing (at the time) an 18 year old in prision for a stupid fight.

So IMO the lawyer was well worth the cash. I spend nearly 10k all said and done. Lesson learned, not worth it.
 
My best advice is to not admit to anything more on a public forum, which is easily searchable by anyone...and get a lawyer ASAP.
 
And as mentioned on another thread, pull down any Facebook or My Space sites if you have one until this is settled. Something stupid on that can just add ammunition for a prosecutor or judge.
