Any love for the Pontiac Solstice Z0k

So I am looking at a 07 Pontiac Solstice to pick up, enjoy for a bit and hopefully sell for a little profit!! I don't know anything about them, this is not the gxp, has 30k miles and a bunch of aftermarket stuff since the guy autocrossed it. Says it has the Z0K option?? 1 of 7 2.4L NA factory made Z0K suspension produced. Are these cars worth anything or maybe going up in value?? He is asking around 10k for it.

  • Pro-parts custom made dual adjustable yellow Konis (original Z0K struts taken off car with 13K miles on them included if you want them as Konis were installed into brand new OEM struts), cost $2000

  • Lightweight OZ Alleggerita 18x8 wheels (no longer available in this bolt pattern/offset) in perfect condition mounted with 245/40/18 Rival S, wheels cost $1700

  • Lightweight PF01 17x8 wheels with a few knicks with well used 245/45/17 RE-71R, can mount 245/40/17 for lowering gearing and higher acceleration with loss of 2MPH at redline in 2nd gear for lower speed courses, wheels cost $1000

  • Stock wheels included with Kumho regular street tires

  • Solo performance cat back exhaust (complete uncut original exhaust included if you want it)

  • Larger rear sway bar (GXP Z0K rear bar)

  • Redline transmission and rear diff fluids

  • K&N air filter

  • Mobil 1 Oil and Filter always used

  • Current alignment of -2.5 in front (more available) and -1.9 in rear (maxed)

  • Race weight of 2750 pounds

The Z0K was definitely the Auto cross special version of the base engine car. The big thing was that it came with really wide wheels so you could run a wide wheel and tire package in stock class because you are limited in wheel width by what the car comes with.

I don't really see the Z0K being something anyone is going to seek out now. It isn't any good for the current street class structure and anyone actually trying to collect one is going to go find a GXP and not a Z0K. It's rarity isn't the sort of value adding rarity IMO. The only people that could care are auto x'ers and they don't care because it isn't classed competitively for street class anymore.

yes it is awesome with an ls motor. Sure the focus with the v8 swap and rear drive is awesome too. But not looking for a major project! I would just buy a vette

I have two kappa's if you have any question. I don't know much about the 2.4's but the chassis is very rigid and capable.

Here's a video of one I found on youtube

As 4 cam bird mentioned, these were specifically designed for autocross. A friend of mine was the chassis engineer for the BOK package. If I remember correctly, they have different gearing in the transmission, different springs, dampers, roll bars, might have a different final drive ratio. AC was an option. They were very competitive an autocross when new, and very rare. If I remember correctly, only 54 ZOK cars were built in total.

However, rarity doesn't mean valuable. Its value really depends on the buyer.

The obsolete auto cross special thing is sort of funny. SCCA has decided that they don't want people to have to go out and find some obscure car to be competitive in a street class. So, they take cars that were more limited and are a few years old and bump them up a class to make them non competitive while taking new cars (Fiesta ST) and bumping them down a class so someone can go buy a new car to compete. They ruined HS.
