Any interest in a Motown Muscle custom AR15 lower receiver group buy?

So far it's looking like Billet is the route we will be going with.

And most want a matched set, but there are a few that are looking for just lowers. So we will go that route, allowing folks to go either matched set or just lower.

I am going to get the Motown logo line drawing from Anthony, so the lowers will match the coozies. But i am curious, is there any interest in having the old english "D" put on these? My initial thought is to put the "D" on these like i did the DGW lowers, and have the Motown logo on the opposite side, so the Motown logo can be larger, but i'll ask the masses.

First and foremost, i am using www.newfrontierarmory.com

And the C-4 is the billet lowers/uppers they make. They do have threaded bolt release, takedown pin, and upper tensioning holes, and they include the hardware for these holes. This is a nice feature that better allows folks to build their own lower without all the custom tools and jigs that i have for building. Still need some basic stuff, but nothing crazy to build your own, especially if your only planning on one build.

For uppers, i am getting the complete stripped uppers with the forward assist and dust cover installed to save everyone hassle, and the $20 is worth it.

Then I need input on the following:

Model number I was thinking "MM-15"
Serial numbers i was thinking MOTOWN001, MOTOWN002, etc.
For fire control markings, we can use the usual ones they have pictured on the website, or try something different, like maybe....Pew Pew/No Pew, or the old fire/safe?
Caliber will be marked "MULTI" for allowing folks to build whatever caliber they want.......5.56/.300 blk/6.5/6.8/22lr

Looks like we have approx. 20 lowers that can be ordered, so i am going to start the paperwork with NFA as soon as i get a logo from Anthony, and we get a majority vote/feeling on the above inputs. I will post the final details when i start the process, and arrange payment from folks for the order before ordering. I will cover and difference in lowers between actual orders, and the minimum needed for the variance order, and then just sell them off when the order arrives, but hopefully we can get them all spoken for. I want to get this order going ASAP to eliminate any unnecessary delays in production.

Cool, I' did one of their 80% billet lowers when I was in Kommiefornia and everything works quite well with it.

As far as markings I'm cool with whatever the majority goes with, I like the model numbers and serials.

Are these going to be bare or coated?

Yes, the machining and anodizing should match, as i think they will send the lowers and uppers together to be done at the same time, but i will verify when i submit the drawings and variance paperwork. Things have been busy, so i just need to get that stuff together and off to them this weekend.

I will do my best to accomodate any/all serial number requests, and as long as folks post up in the thread here their "requests", i will use that as a place holder for requested numbers, as long as it doesn't affect folks getting consecutive serials when buying multiple, as i will normally pull in numerical order from the pile when selling them. I can say that they will start at one, and go up, so only numbers available will be the quantity that we buy/order. But we can always order more later after the initial program design is setup.

Bump for update. I got everything submitted for the variance design, and when they get me a final design proof to "OK" then we should get a production time estimate..

Sorry for the delayed update, I was out of town all last week for work, and then the weekend was swamped with family obligations...

Long story short, I heard back from the company president that our order was received, and we are in the cue, and will be put into production ASAP. They will contact me shortly before engraving to verify all details and approve the design.

I went with the previous details for design...

Getting the uppers with the FA & Dust covers, and the lowers are stripped.

Pricing is as follows:

$120 for lowers + 30 for engraving....$150 per lower
$140 for uppers
$5 for shipping....flat rate per order

All sales plus sales tax. Cash prices listed, can take CC's, but 4% cash discount won't apply, so add the 4%. I can do checks for Motown Members only, as that is not my usual practice, but we'll make this happen. Especially since your not taking these home right away anyways, funds will have time to clear, but if you bounce it, you're on the hook for bank fees.

I can start taking payment for these this week, and will update when we get an official approved design and build date.

Looking like we are at approx. 21ish depending on a few folks replies and updates, so like I stated before, I will place the minimum order of 25 lowers, and will have a few available for stragglers or if anyone wants to get extra lower when they arrive. I'm obviously gonna keep one to build, and if we don't sell them all, then i guess i will have to set one aside for each of my boys. I'm keeping #1, and if extra's aren't sold by delivery day, #'s 8 & 10.

I will do everything in my power to guarantee guys the serial numbers they request. As long as it doesn't turn into a shit storm, then i will default to first to pickup picks serial #'s. Alot of guys buying multiples will want consecutive serial #'s, and if they don't care, then guys wanting random #'s will be easy to accommodate. But folks that bought multiples that want consecutive #'s will be given preference if it comes down to a # dispute for requested vs consecutive. Shouldn't be an issue, but want to be up front.

Feel free to call to set up a time to pay for these, and we'll get you taken care of. I'm in Clinton Twp. @ 16/Groesbeck for purposes of location. I do evening and weekend appointments. And if the guys farther away want to send in one person with payment, I can write up receipts for everybody individually, as long as I have their info. I will only need the actual person present for when the sale/transfer takes place, and all ATF rules apply, a DL and either a CPL or FBI background check required for all lowers purchased.
