Any Drag Strips that will let me run a stock 2014 GT500 Vert?

I know it's a long shot, just curious if any make an exception for stock trim? I have no desire to cage it.

Milan will on NO ET nights, no problem.

Another thing you can do is nudge the light when it goes green....count to 2....then go.

I'd never heard that suggestion  Any idea if it would it be allowed during the October track rental?

I used to do it all the time. Then you make some half hits to see what the 60ft time would really be, and you can use math to figure out what the car actually runs lol

But I bet you'll be fine at the track rental also. I don't think they're very strict with stock cars at all. I have run my hellcat a few times with no issues. Also, unless you have tires on it, it may not go very quick regardless.

Was just thinking the same, how fast do you really think its gonna go?

The NHRA rulebook says 13.5 or faster requires a cage for a droptop and makes no mention of exclusions for stock trim that I've read, It'll do better than that without question.

i think they made a real that says unaltered 2008 OEM model year and newer production cars running slower than 9.99 and 135
mph do not have have a cage, but i think it excludes T-tops and verts.

sounds like Raj's technique might be your best bet.

My buddy ran 7 times in his 14 coupe. He ran several 10.50 passes at 133+ at Milan test and tune. He paid for no et. They never said a word to him.

Besides if you're the typical Shelby owner you can't drive the car out of the 13's anyways.. From what I've seen what the car is capable of and what drivers are capable of are two completely different spectrums. I mean that in the nicest way possible. Lol

Everyone once in a blue moon, i agree with his statements. And this applies to ANY car. You may think your gonna go lower then 13's "without question" doesnt mean its gonna happen.

Lapeer let me run my 67 vert with no Cage on 3 occassions now.

...and I was much quicker then 13.5's and they never said boo

I've never made a pass down the stip but I'd like to this year. My question is at Milan are they sticklers about tech? The reason i ask is because I have a trunk mounted battery and from what I've read in several rule books if your battery is in a "non stock" location you need a electrical shutoff switch outside the vehicle and frankly I'm not sure its worth it to install one. If i did go to Milan it would probably be for a TNT night.
