general question: what is the difference between an 86 mustang gt 5.0 and the truck/van 5.0 besides the intakes?

The 86 mustang engines have no valve reliefs in the pistons. As for the truck engines I have no idea if they are built the same for the 86 MY.

the mustand is a ho motor and the van is not... the ho is a 351 f.o

The HO uses a roller cam with a 351 firing order
the non HO uses a flat tappet cam with a standard 302 firing order
passanger cars like Grand Marqis and crown vics have a roller cam with a 302 firing order.

most of the HO 302's have forged pistons
