Long story short, my home came with all newer Kenmore Elite appliances, and Sunday night my cabinet wall mount oven burst into flames (literally). Thankfully I was in the kitchen and paying attention, but now I dont trust it enough to repair it. Plus kenmore elite seems like junk to begin with.

So I'm shopping for a new one. Hoping we have a member that does service so they can recommend a brand that is quality that will last me a long time.

I have had my GE appliances for about 2 years now, the finish is holding up great, doesn't feel cheap and haven't given me any issues than having to replace the water filter every 3 months in the fridge. It is very easy to change so it isn't a bad change.

I will never own another GE microwave. Had one that was just a few years old and the plastic rack holders burst into flames while using it. The metal rack wasn't even in the microwave.

A family friend owns A-Dependable Maytag in Royal Oak. Family owned business and great people. If you go talk to them, just tell them Andy Misner sent you. You'll pay a little more than the big box stores, but their service is personal (and excellent). 248-588-1400

Avoid Whirlpool. Customer service is terrible. Basically told to GFY if you're a day out of warranty.

X2! Had a microwave last 3 years and the door literally fell off...
Also had a side by side bottom freezer that sounded like a cop knocking on the back of the fridge.. They sent me a brand new one from the factory and 2 years later i think the cop moved back into my fridge cause it wakes my ass up

Fixed!

But yeah, in my experience, Maytag is the one that stands behind their brand
