H,C,I on a 302 based fox body is a few hours worth of work if all goes right. I did a head swap with headers, intake, carb(w/ new fuel pump,reg and lines) on my red car in 6 hours.

On other peoples stuff I perfer to take my time so I don't over look the lilttle things(like your backing plate which still bugs me today)... Even so I did 86 coupe's convertor change in about three hours.. 302, C4 long tube headers.. out, new convertor in, filter, and tailhousing change, and installed in like three hours.. Btw I cheated on that one I didnt take the heades off.. :gr_grin:

i don't think it's hypocritical at all. i had all the work on my car done at livernois, with exception of the lowering springs and the headers you did. 850 to have it done by a business that does that everyday is not too much IMO. sorry if these posts ruffled your feathers derrick, but like i said before i am happy with the work that you did on mine (and i wouldn't let the backing plate bother you, no biggie), but a H/C/I is a little more involved than a header install and 850 seems reasonable.

No feather ruffled at all please don't think that and that wasnt directed towards you just a general obervation.

I don't think 850 is unreasonable to have said work done by a shop, just that if somone in his situation who wants to use it as a learning experiance per say.... taking it to a shop is last option in my mind, a shop will do the work; yes but I highly doubt they will let him come to the shop and work with them to learn from them. Not becuase they're not personable but becuase they're protecting there job more or less.

its cool, hopefully you can give him a hand and it;ll put some money in your pocket and some knowledge in his head.. a win win situation.
