John Jackson from NotStock Photography flew up to take aftermath pics, and he's selling prints to raise money for the shop's owner.

The pictures are really pretty amazing. They had already cleaned the building and moved the cars around, but he still got some great shots. Check them out, buy them here:

Here are a couple that were taken by other people right after the fire:

That horrible.
So many people do not recognize simple fire hazards. Not many shops I walk into could pass a fire inspection. Extension cords, improperly stored flammable liquids & gases, blocked exits. I bet half the people on mm have the same hazards in their own garage. Everyone should take note and spend 5 minuets and look in you own garage and eliminate them. Improper wiring (using extension cords for permanent wiring) is one of the largest causes of fires.

Damn that does suck big time. Any idea what caused the fire ?

On a side note, notice how the steel rails of the lift sagged and bent from the simple heat of a shop fire.

I noticed that too, is that from a bad lift or was the "simple" fire that hot?? :dontknow:

doesn't look like that fire was that simple looks like it torched the complete building. Even the roof was caving in. Poor cars hope they had insurance..

Steel will start to twist, sag and bend starting at 1000*, with modern building materials and furnishings, a house fire can easily reach that temp.

I don't want to hi jack this thread but I posted that for people to realize how easily steel starts to deform in a fire. . . . conspiracy theorists

I didn't mean it like that. I meant a simple fire as in structure and content fire. No extra fuel load, just a basic structure fire.

I do hope the guy had insurance, I doubt it will cover everything.

From what I understand he had insurance on the building and the tools, not on the cars. I'm guessing most of them were client's cars, hopefully they had them insured. But either way, it's not gonna cover the man hours and parts and what not. I think he said the cars in there were valued at about 1m.

Not sure on the cause yet.

As well the weight of the car lifted on it makes it that much more likely to bend. That really sucks, many people with a lot of broken dreams now. I'd prolly cry if my Mustang got burned, and these were totally custom rides.
The pics are cool.
