There is no such thing as "enough". Hell, I have an 11 second car on pump gas and its not enough LOL! I don't think I'm gonna do much else to my car besides maybe a cam swap, transbrake, and little stuff. I really need an after market block but thats a long time away for me. In due time....:thumbsup:

Theres no way your making near enough power to hurt that block yet. unless your cars run ways better than i think it does for your weight from guessing and from what i know about the car that thing would have to be running in the nigh 9's to be near breaking the block arena..

The block is fine as long as i'm N/A but with spray I think I'll be on borrowed time. They say the stock blocks are at thier limit around 500hp or so. I know people that are making more than that and haven't broke YET but its all a matter of when not if. I figure my motor makes around mid 400hp on motor before the 150 shot. So with the juice flowing its closer to 600. Factory 5.0 blocks were never intended to hold that kind of power but I might get lucky for a while, who knows. I would feel better having a good block though. If I ever find the money i'll get an R block or equivalent. For now though i'll just beat the hell out of it till' it splits!:thumbsup:

You might see 100 of that on a decent safe tune up on something a lil aggresive like how i run my stuff you'll prob see closer to the 150 increase.

Yeah, it made 287 to the tires. Not too bad.....

With 20% loss for drivetrain.. (which is high on in my mind) your car would be around 360fwhp -71 for drivetrain loss... puts you around 290 @ tires..


Thats sounds about right for most pump gas stroker sbf gigs...

Derrick, I didn't think you would really take that seriously, unless you're just messin' with me LOL! My car makes more than 290 to the tires. Try well north of 300......:thumbsup:
The motor that was in my car when I got it (306 w/ j302 heads, solid flat tappet cam, box stock torker 2 intake, and 750 vacuum sec. carb put down 340's to the tires. I bet with a victor junior and a good carb it would have been closer to 370's. That motor did have more compression than my 331 but the induction setup was nowhere near what I currently have. I'm sure my motor isn't making 600hp with spray either, but i'm also sure its not that far away.

Ahhhhhh, girl trouble aye'? Our cars are what keep us from strangling people sometimes LOL. Or sometimes they cause us to wanna strangle someone! Take your time on it over the winter and get it done in time for spring. :thumbsup:
