Aluminum floor jack suggestions?

In the market for a new jack for the upcoming season and would like to hear some reccomendations.

I have a 4 year old AC Delco 1.5ton which seems to be the same China-Special 1.5 ton everyone else and their mother sells with a different label. Some even call it "3000lb" instead of 1.5 ton to try to differentiate.. not fooling anyone.

Looking for something a bit tougher this time and one that can get further under the car. I saw a 4000lb US General (HF) aluminum jack at Sno*Drift this past weekend that looked like it would fit the bill, but I'd prefer something made in USA, and willing to spend a few extra bucks. And before anyone says it, Brunnhoelzl's are out of my price range.

So far, the only one I have found is this one (see bottom of page) It has the best combo of low lift and high lift heights I have found and its made here.

Suggestions?

My 3 ton HF aluminum jack has been decent to me but if you're looking for something that will work every time and not break down every now and then I would look elsewhere. I broke 3 aluminum castors off of mine in the 4 years that I used it. Last year it blew out the seals in the hydraulics so it won't go up anymore. It had a decent life but it's been retired. Spend the money on something better if you're going to bring it to the track a lot.

that looks like a nice jack..whats the price of that john?

I looked it up because I was thinking the same thing, it was yesterday though, I want to say it was only $150-200 though. I didn't think that was too bad. That was the price from Northern Tool. If you google the model number it comes up or go to Northern Tool site and search for the model number.

3 ton? You mean 3000lb (1.5 ton) right? I'm not looking for another one of those. I need to be able to lift under the pig and k member and a 1.5 ton will not last the race season doing that.

The cheapest brunnhoetzl is around $800. But i'm not concerned with quick pumps for pit stops, just durability and lift height.

I took another look at the alcan pdf I posted, only the products with the american flag next to them are made here. I'll keep looking.

I could really use a lower jack so I've been looking around a bit as a result of this thread. I see why you made this thread.

I would trust Japan over China and from what I can tell this is made in Japan

There are some American jack makers I found but none of them did anything light weight.

Our snap on guy just stopped in here. Blue Point makes a 3 1/2 ton jack.

"Fast acting pump reaches full lift in three pumps"
"3 3/4" saddle height for low ground clearance"
"foam pad to limit damage"
"U-joint release mechanism"

399.99

Couldn't find the exact one online, but found people saying that Blue Point is a re-badged something else, that costs more.

Also a possibility is the craftsman 50244, 3 ton aluminum, $300.
i have had this one for a long time. alot of people have issues but mine works pretty good. when its cold it doesnt do the single pump thing
