Local fire departments take them. We used to have many sets, along with wheel chairs and they were always free to anyone who needed them, unsure where they store them now, city workers moved them to a central location, but from time to time we get a few people dropping them off.

Salvation Army wouldn't take them, I'm sure it was a liability thing which I understand.
