As a professional driver and an automotive historian you FAIL!

PS for you ford and Chrysler guys, that is not the all aluminum 377ci smallblock. In 66 penski dropped a L-88 bigblock in the car and made it damn near impossible to drive. there are a bunch of photos of Mark Donahue driving down long straight-a-ways with the front wheels off of the ground. (the car created lift above 140-150 its the reason for the wild looking hood design, they were trying to reduce the pressure buildup by venting it thru the hood)

That car was built before 1967. I believe it to be a de-stroked 396.
They probably had to meet a displacement limit. The Corvette got the 396-425 hp engine in 1965.
The 427 went into production in 1967.

its a 1963 grand sport. in 66 it raced at sebring with a factory production L-88 development car that was a coupe. (Zora Arkus Dontov gave penske the car and the engine for the grand sport) Both cars had Traco built L-88's The car is currently owed buy a guy in Cincinnati
this is my all time favorite race car. I have 3 books on them. some day I hope to purchase a mongoose Grandsport with an all aluminum small block just like Zora wanted them :D
