Reminds me of my old Navy days....I was "T.A.D" to the "T-line" at Naval airstation Atlanta. At the end of the night (field was shut down for noise abatement at 11pm-6am) we would jump into a F-350 diesel crewcab (Call sign: mobile one)go to the end of the runway and shutdown/fold up the practice Frescal lens (the "meatball" in Top gun speak) then haul ass down to the other end and shut down that meatball.
One of the guys who we rotated days off with, crashed mobile one into VFA-203's hanger door. So it was out for a week at the body shop....... on the nights we worked. We used my Supercharged Mercury cougar XR-7. WIDE OPEN for 3 miles straight
