Hi,
I recently plumbed my whole car with Aeroquip Socketless hose, and ran fuel thru it for the first time this week. My car is not running, but I powered the pumps up & ran them directly at 50psi for a few minutes to check for leaks (none found).
Now my garage reeks like gas, and I can smell it coming right thru the hose liner, just as bad as braided line. Also, the hose is noticeably softer when compared to non-gas immersed line, and has stretched in length. It stretched so mutch that it hung down between adel mounting clamps.
I am worried that the softening is going to lead to an eventual failure / clog injectors, and could cause a fire when the hose end blows off. I am also pissed that I spent 400.00 on line & fittings that I have absolutely no confidence in.
Does anyone else have any experience with this?
I found an interesting article at:
