Aeroquip Socketless Hose Issues

Hi,
I recently plumbed my whole car with Aeroquip Socketless hose, and ran fuel thru it for the first time this week. My car is not running, but I powered the pumps up & ran them directly at 50psi for a few minutes to check for leaks (none found).

Now my garage reeks like gas, and I can smell it coming right thru the hose liner, just as bad as braided line. Also, the hose is noticeably softer when compared to non-gas immersed line, and has stretched in length. It stretched so mutch that it hung down between adel mounting clamps.

I am worried that the softening is going to lead to an eventual failure / clog injectors, and could cause a fire when the hose end blows off. I am also pissed that I spent 400.00 on line & fittings that I have absolutely no confidence in.

Does anyone else have any experience with this?

I found an interesting article at:

are you sure its rated for fuels? i would bet that the hose you bought is not. i have used push loc hose and fittings before. never got soft, actually got stiff. not all push loc hose is made for use with fuels. im betting you bought from jegs or summit.

The hose says 'FC332' on the outside. According to Aeroquip, it is acceptable for gasoline, oil, coolant, and air. Yes I bought it from summit. I am calling them on Tuesday about this.

Was it in pre packaged boxes like you would buy from a local speed shop? Or was it cut from bulk in a clear package? You mentioned you called aeroquip , so i am assuming the guy on the phone helped you ID the line and it was in fact theirs. I have had the least amount of troubles with aeroquip fitting and line in general. The only time I have EVER had trouble is when i used another brand. I have used the s.s. line t.f.e. line, power steering line, and the push loc with good sucess. Did the tech at aeroquip tell you to obtain a RMA so he could inspect the line? Eaton corp. doesn't want a bad name on their product. So if the big S won't help they prob. will....

Yep, pre-packaged boxes. The tech was very helpful, and Summit accepted the hose back. I am waiting on a refund. Aeroquip is going to get the hose baqck, and inspect it. I am going to use SS teflon hose as a replacement.
