Aaron the Bearded Wonder is Leaving Gas Monkey Garage

Good. I feel Aaron's potential was being held back by Richard's ego. Hopefully Aaron gets his own shop and puts out some killer cars. While he has done some spectacular work, there's no doubt he can do much better on his own or as part of another outfit that gives him more creative control.

You care certainly more than most people.

You read the post, hit reply, searched for the unfunny meme, downloaded it, copy n pasted it, then hit post reply.

That's ALOT OF EFFORT....... for someone who doesn't Give a fuck

Had very funny and appropriate meme saved on my hard drive, so total time in reading and reply was under 15 seconds.

Aaron does do builds out of his garage. I agree with him being held back. I read in Richards book that Aaron just likes to build cars and doesnt like all the tv garbage I am wondering if thats what the cause of him leaving is....

His work might be superior if he ventures off on his own but (according to how the show plays out) he always wants to go big on projects..... And big projects cost big money that you might not always make back. I'd be curious to see how he makes out as a solo business owner.

I personally think Aaron's ego was/ is starting to catch up with Richard's. And I also think that they always took shortcuts that nobody other than a knowledgable car guy would catch. Like putting a C4 or C6 trans behind a 5.0 coyote in the F100. Why go through all the work of putting an awesome modern engine in just to put behind it an antiquated non-OD transmission? Or when they built the 50's Chevy "show" truck where they "said" they used all LMC Truck parts. I would think a no expense spared show truck build would use something other than aftermarket crap parts.

Bye bye A a ron, he seemed bossy lately, but who knows what happens behind the scenes, initially he seemed very hands on with every build

Have a hard time watching that show any more. Richard is just a pompous ass who is nothing more than a half assed used car salesman.

I gave up on that fake ass show.

The fake ass stories of randomly building a car and then finding a buyer when something was obviously commissioned annoyed me. Fake ass drama, Richard even said in something i read about this that the drama was for the cameras. Half assed builds described above. At least Richard stopped trying to portray himself as a broke ass struggling to go from project to project when he was loaded from the get go.

I stopped watching all those shows. I hate the drama. I still enjoy an episode of count's customs every now & then. I just wish they showed more of the car/bike/whatever getting built/painted & less fuckerey.

I prefer Full Custom Garage. I like watching Ian make things in a way that a typical DTY garage guy would. Every once and a while I pick something up from him and try it myself. Like cutting aluminum sheet stock with a circular saw with a decent carbide tipped blade. I used that trick on my work bench when I did it.

Gas Monkey is not my kind of show. We bought a rare rust bucket, it now is repainted...we lost our ass at auction...

Hopefully the beard guy does something on hiw own. I liked the GMG shows where he built a car and ran it up pikes peak. Something like that but more detailed would be good. Show him racing his creation vs a pro team. Offroad, circle track, dirt track, mudbog, hillclimbs, auto-x, drift, pulling, rally...
